Good evening.
Are you ready for the trickster-treaters? I know I am. I hope we get a few more than last year, which shouldn’t be too hard b/c we only had like 10 or so.
I have just returned from an evening out with a couple friend of ours and it was delightful. We met downtown at a swanky restaurant which had a DJ and dance floor for later in the evening. We dined around 830pm and left around 11pm (dance floor hadn’t started yet…but these old fogies headed home
).
But, before we get into the attire for the evening, let me just preface it by saying the following:
I like to think I’m a classy gal. Classy dresser and all.
Hence, my outfit for the mall last night.
Nice, right?
But then things started to get a bit strange. Case in point: I came home with 2 purchases, see below.
I had a $10 budget for both Michael and I’s Halloween costume and this is what transpired….(ignore the camoflauge bandana, it is being returned…another costume idea).
Hello Hef! And hey Mister…watch where you put that hand
Well, anyway…it ended up being a splendid night, despite my sensible reservations of going out in public with pink ears on my head
As for the food, well it left a bit to be desired. I started with a peppermint tea which was delightful. I then ordered the Orange Roughy w/ Risotto. Well, the fish was lightly fried and it wasn’t a risotto at all. It was more like undone white beans mixed with rice and barley. I ate half the fish, half the “risotto” and passed it onto Michael.
Dessert? Well, it sounded promising: A chocolate Lava Souffle with hazelnut ice cream. It was basically a tiny pot of melted chocolate and a scoop of very good hazelnut ice cream. Now I was fine with the dessert except for the fact that my stomach was pretty empty so I ate half of the pot of chocolate and called it a night.
And? YEP! IBS ATTACK. I should have known, but I thought rissoto with fish would have been fine. I think my stomach was too empty by the time it got home, in addition to it being filled with un-friendly foods (lightly FRIED fish, undercooked beans & barley, etc.).
Good thing the conversation was good b/c I didn’t realize the pain until we were in the car on the way home. I made myself a bowl of oatmeal when we got home and am hoping that it settles down a bit. The thing is…it had been SO long since my last attack and all was good. Hmph. Ah well, not the end of the world. Hopefully it will be all better tomorrow morning.
Hope you have a very happy Halloween!
Good night.

I am loving your and your husband’s Halloween costume! I don’t think I could ever get the boy to wear a “couple’s costume.” I did drive him to get a spray tan though so he could be a Guido :X
Sorry to hear about your IBS attack. It’s so frustrating when there isn’t MUCH you can do about it. When you get food that isn’t worth stomaching and then a delicious dessert comes out…you’re going to dive right into that dessert. It’s human.
Hope you feel better soon!
